I took my boat out on the lake and went to accelerate, the boat would start to speed up and suddenly the boat would slow down , but the engine would continue to rev up. When I let up on he throttle the boat would continue to move forward.It's not jumping out of gear, it happens in reverse...
I recently purchased an older 18hp evinrude fastwin with the ID plate missing
from the transom mount.I was told that it is early to mid 70's,but I would like to know for sure so I can order parts for it.is there any other way to identify the year this motor was made?
