hows it going i just picked up a 1980 90hp 6cyl its got over 130lbs of compression on all 6. clean motor. but i just got it all hooked up and no spark anywhere. ive never owned a merc only johnson evinrudes... lots of wires on these things. any thoughts would be great.

i have an 77 85 hp wont stay on it fires right up and it seems like when i let go of the key from the start position to just on it turns off... if i hold the key to start, the starter still spins but the motor stays on. as soon as i let it go it turns off..... kinda boggles me.. any input would...
I have a 23ft ercoa pontoon.. i put a 175 evinrude on it and i have a 15X17 prop at WOT im pushing 4500 Im told this motor should run to 6000 rpm. with the 17 pitch it comes out of the hole like a jet boat but doesnt run up that high
