I am trying to replace the water pump and can't seem to understand the trick in dropping/separating the lower unit from the motor. After I removed the 4 LU bolts the units separate but just hangs there .........must have some type of a retainer clip holding them together.

I know its got to be simple but how do you remove and clean the fuel filter on the port side of the engine? It looks like it should unscrew but before breaking it I thought I should ask. Thanks!
