I have a 1960 Gale 5hp model 5D-17B i ran it the other day in my test tank and noticed gear oil in the water. i removed th fill screw and the oil is a cream color does anyone know.
1.how to pressure test a lower unit?
2.how to remove this lower unit?
3.can i get parts for this motor?

i have a 1981 evinrude and i just replaced the throttle cable and choke cable and now when i am boating at a good speed the motor thuds like a hit a rock i have changed the plugs checked everything i could think off.
the lower unit is good. someone said that the throttle cable could be misaligned.
Does anyone know where can i get a manual for a trailcar trailer i want to see how low i can adjust it so it sits lower to the ground.<br /><br />thank you

I have a merc 1984 60hp model 1060524 and i had the switch box replaced because every time i wanted to go full out the motor would bogg and stall i could not go faster than a trolling speed than after severl attempts of playing with it i would now have my speed back now with the new switch box...
