ok, i posted a thread a while back about getting my alpha one gen II sterndrive back on after replacing the gimbal bearing. I ended up buying a alignment tool and managed to get it on. when i started the motor the bearing noise was gone but there is a knocking noise coming from the outdrive...
I had the stern drive off to replace the gimbal bearing and water pump. I am today i tried to get it back onto the boat and it wont go on all the way. I slide the u joint up in to the housing and make sure the shaft goes into the bearing then try to push it on. the unit gets about an 1- 1/2"...
