Is it possible for a coil to work and then stop working every now and then? Day before yesterday I had spark on all 3 cylinders, yesterday I had no spark on the #1 cylinder. This has happened a few times this spring.

It's 1977 70hp Johnson. Been running crappy sometimes then seems to snap out of it and runs fine for a while at WOT. Changed the plugs but did not change anything. I had it on the muffs at home, turned the motor off and noticed fuel running out of the top carb. Does this mean a bad float or...
If someone was to find a pressure tank without the disconnect fitting to the motor, coudn't you just hook the fuel and air line directly to the motor without the fitting? What is so "explosive" about these tanks anyways?
My nieghbor finally broke down and sold me his 54 Johnson 10hp w/tank. Excellent compression and spark. He said it needs an impeller. He had the motor cover sand blasted so its ready for primer, paint and decals. Bought it for $100:D. I'm PUMPED!!
