Every time mine whines is because blockage. The screen in the fuel pressure regulator should be checked and cleaned and remove the high pressure pump and clean the inlet screen on that. The HP pump is held in with a bracket and single screw.
I have just completed this today on my Boat and my trim works like it should. Have not done a water test yet and if there are leaks, all won't last too long. Silly that Volvo put these where they did:(. My old trim motor had a dead spot on the armature. I took the motor apart; (Must have a...
Have trouble shot this to it being the motor. I tapped on the cover with screwdriver while my assistant held the trim switch. One tap and it started working and has until yesterday. Tapped again and all good. My question is: Can you get just the orings and gaskets to remove the cover and...
Hello. Yesterday 5 min from home, my motor tilt trim stopped working. It does not go up or down I have a 2010 5.7GXi-JF with a DPS-A Out drive. I have not started to T/S it yet but am curious as to the location of the 40Amp circuit breaker that the manual mentions. Thanks in advance.
Have you disconnected the shift cable from the drive? I would re-install at least the aft bolts on the engine to keep it in place in case you need to use extra leverage to get the drive off.
Read your post again. I should note to my above that 175 is fairly typical what they run at when fully warmed up. Rated thermostat for Raw Water cooled is 160 but they run at 175. If your exhaust manifolds and Risers are only warm to the touch when running and your at 175, you got no issues...
In your write up you suggest that the problem isn't in the lower leg as it seems fine when running on the hose hooked to the water port and that by passes the drive. That observation makes the drive very suspect. Look at the plastic fitting on the left side of the upper unit that the water...
On a Yamaha ( Your boat is a Volvo Penta) there is the VST you speak of and it will cause the issue you mention. On a Carb'd engine as you mention, a sticky power valve could cause your issue. Add some Sea Foam available at any auto part store & Walmart to the fuel tank as per the directions...
I personally have in my craft a 2010 5.7 GXI-JF and since I changed the stock plugs that were 41-993 AC Delcos, The MR43LTS is all that its had and she runs like a top. When I worked at the Marina, I would use the stock plugs unless a customer balked at the cost and asked if there was a less...
Standard Copper AC Delco MR43LTS plugs work just fine in these Vortec Motors no matter if it's a Carb motor or MPI. They do come stock with the more expensive plug but the plugs will rust out well before they wear out. It's your $$ but the cheaper plugs do the job. Just check the GAP before...
