    I have an older 20hp merc tiller steer. The serial number is gone so I have no way of knowing exact year. If I had to guess Id say late 70s early 80s, Black w/blue band around the cover and it says "thunderbolt ignition system" on the front cover. Ok, the problem. It will start up and run great...

    prop spins in neutral. is this normal?

    I have a late 70s 20hp merc Thunderbolt and the prop spins in neutral, not with near as much force as when in gear but it still spins. Is this ok/normal??

    Need lower unit help on 20hp and 9.8hp

    I have a 20hp merc that leaks gear oil when you leave it proped all the way up on the latch for a few days. It is a black and blue tiller motor that I rekon is mid 70's to early 80's though I don't know for sure cause there is no S.N.. I'm guessing it's the shift shat seal and wana know is there...

    1970 merc 110 9.8hp fuel leak???

    On the very top rear of the float bowl there is a small hole, maybe a vent? If I squeeze the primer bulb more then about 2 times fuel sprays out of that hole. Is this normal? It seems like a fire hazard to me. Anyone had this issue?
