i bought a 19ft cobia bowrider yesterday. took it out today and it over heated. doesn't seem to be pumping water into the motor. this is my first boat like this, is there an impeller in the foot like on an outboard or how does this motor(5.0l) get water to cool it?

Hey to all, my name is greg. I just bought a 95 sea rayder f 16(picked it up for $500). It runs great but i took it out after i bought it and about 10 minutes into the ride i opened the engine hatch and noticed about 8-10 inches of water in the engine compartment.(yes i had both plugs in..lol)...
