My 2001 mercury 20 hp ele start , has got to where it wont start if its been sitting overnight . I can very lightly spray fluid ( a tiny bit of my fuel in spray bottle ) in carb and it starts easy and will start everytime i bump the key for rest of the day .

Went back together much easier then taking it off :) I did have to cut a small square in whats called the driveshaft housing assembly ( on the parts page) to soak the driveshaft for the lower unit to drop . I have not had this fixed yet as i wanted to see if the pump was working first and gears...

Finally got the lower unit off , it was NOT pretty !!! After the foot was off i removed the water pump housing and the key was laying inside the housing .. the speedo connector broke off also but that piece was able to came out easy ... Anyways here some damage .....
