Ok I remembered a plastic bag in glove box of boat it was impeller bag with part number on it I will assume that since it matches part number that goes with second one that it’s the two piece shaft is there gasket/ kit I should get for when I open it up?

My son just got a boat with 1989 85hp Force on it and I would like to change the impeller how do I tell what year and model I have for sure I figure the serial number will have code to tell me. Is there more than 1 model in 1989? Thanks

My son is looking at a 18’ spectrum boat with a 89 force 85 hp motor. I’ve owned Mercury Johnson evinrude but never a Force I need some schooling before he buys. Any weaknesses I should know or things to check. Or even let me know to run away.

My son is looking at a 1988 Lund boat that has an 88 150 on it. Is there anything specific I should be looking for that may be problematic with this motor? I am familiar with 1970’s three cylinder engines but know nothing about the newer 150 stuff.

Working with a 73 65hp Johnson it will start on muffs and run good and when you put it in the water it will start and run on high idle when you put it in gear it dies instantly and will not start and when it does has to be chocked to run when it goes into gear it dies instantly no coughing or...

70's Evinrude not sure if it is 65 70 or 75 but it will start on high idle sounds good won't stay running in gear when dealer mounted it was supposed to rebuild. Changed fuel lines and pumped fuel by hand no difference. Had compression checked 100 plus all 3 cylinders. Any help to get started...
