replaced thermostat. Dumb question I have is, there is a hose coming from what appears to be the intermediate housing to the thermostat housing. I assume this is where the sea water from the stern drive enters...Is there supposed to be water pumping from this hose? I would...

1986 merc 120....new points, plugs, wires, rotor etc......ran fine last week, this week it idles rock solid, but when you try to accelerate it sputters than stalls.....it will start right back up but will not take the gas and dies.

I'm installing nautolex in the cockpit over plywood and need some advice. Do I need to seal the plywood (thompsons water seal?), and what kind of adhesive should I use. Would really not like to use spray adhesive if possible. thanks in advance
New to boating so bear with me! I have bad knees so it's really difficult to climb and walk acros the sides of the boat (21' starcraft chieftain w.cabin) to set the anchor from the bow. It woulld be much easier to set the anchor from the stern. Any problems with this? thanks.
Great forum people! Have an 80's 120 merc with alpha one drive. Starboard trim cylinder is junk (corroded, leaking oil.) Removed it and I need a replacement but can't find a part number on it. Do I need a number or how do I match it up? thanks in advance
posted couple weeks ago about swapping 1:98 outdrive for a 1:65 unit--thanks for all your help decided not to do it. another question, how good? reliable? are these new after market outdrives? see new alpha 1's on ebay for $1200 with warranty and free shipping while new mercs costing upwards...
