I have a question regarding a screw I took out on the outdrive of my OMC. The screw I took out, I thought was a water darin, it is on the port side and is just behind the mounting bolts. There was a plastic gromet and there is a large flat nut on the inside. I am just wondering what this is for...

Could someone tell me if my intake manifold gasket was leaking, would that allow water to get into my oil. I am still trying to track down the problem, I guess I am just praying that it is not a cracked block. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
