    Overpowered: 150 tower on 16' SS

    Recently bought a 16' SS with a merc 1500 on it. I know it's too much engine but I got a good price for my area. Engine needs some work so I haven't had it on the water yet. Anyone out there ever ran a 16' with this much power? Oh, the transom and floor are solid.

    Merc 1500 won't rev

    Sitting at launch and can't get the motor to rev passed 2k with the throttle advance. Throttle response is slow as well. Not sure what to do. Ran fine on the muffs this morning.
