How can you tell if a riser is bad. I have a 470 mercruiser 1978 it seems to run a little warm when running above 15mph has new impeller. someone suggested that the riser may be bad.

What is the purpose of the blocking diode on the remote control shifter. Mine is blue and cracked it is bad as I can measure resistance both ways and I know you should only read one way But which way should that be. :( Also would this prevent the motor from firing :confused:

I have a norris craft with a 71 evinrude 60 hp the hull number on the boat is 1513864 is there a way to find info by this. I would like to find out what year and what options it came with. I was told it was a 73 but have since found out the motor is a 71. :confused:
