    Timing advance?

    '85 Mercruiser V6 4.3L I have set my timing at idle to 8* BTDC per the manual. my question is: My timing light does not have the advance feature, but when I increased the rpm's the mark did advance but it moved to the left which took it to a higher number BTDC. Is that correct?

    Which ones??

    Looking for a new "used boat" in the year range from 2000-2007. In the 20'-22' range. I like Chaparral, And I like a few of those Yamaha boats. Any others I should look at? Can a Chaparral Sunesta (deck boat) be taken out into the ocean? Or is the hull design not meant for it?

    '85 Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 1 the boat will idle and cruise through the marina at 5mph no problem but when I try to go to WOT it bogs down and stalls! Then it takes several tries to get it restarted? Any ideas on what's going on there?

    Manual says oil seal in water pump base?

    '85 Alpha 1 I'm installing a new water pump in the lower. The manual says install 2 small oil seals in the pump base, there is no place to install these seals in the base? There weren't any in the old base either?

    Mercruiser alpha 1 gen 1 When installing the water pump, per the manual it says torque to 60-90 lbs In. (7-10 N.m) and the screw to 30-40 lbs In. (3-5 N.m) what does that translate to in ft. lbs? I do not have a torque wrench with Inch lbs
