At idle I have the timing at 2 deg. ATDC as per sticker on motor.At 3000 RPM I have 8 deg. BTDC. I would like to know if this is correct,I think it should be more like 18 deg. BTDC. THANK's Mike

Is there a rule of thumb as to dia. to pitch. I have a 13 3/4 x 15 cupped prop.what would my rpms do if I went to a cupped prop 12 3/4 x 15 or say a cupped prop 12 x 17? I run a 70 hp Jonny at 5600 rpm wot on 16ft. Lund Renegade at 31mph max.
My 1985 70 hp. that I converted to mixed fuel 4 years ago is giving variations in fuel presure readings. When at idle the pressure will drop to 0 for a few seconds then jump to 1.5-2.5lbs,then it will drop to 0 and repeat. At 2500 rpm I get 4-7lbs. variation.

I use champion QL77JC4 plugs gapped at 40th.,I am getting conflicting info from forum.Is there a service bulitin that states a change to 30th. gap?

My 70 hp johnson has a bad hesitation when I trailer it,Also sometimes when pulling skier ect. I have 115 to 118 lbs. of compression and moter tops out at about 5600 rpm with 13 3/4 X 15 SS prop.I wonder now much help if any would a Boyeson Power Reed kit be for this motor problem?
