Got into some shallow water and messed the prop up today. Fortunately it was an old one and had been rebuilt and I have a new one ready to go. It broke off about 2" of one blade.

I described the stiff steering to the parts guy at the boat shop and he said to just replace the whole steering mechanism. Is this good advice, or is there a way to loosen it up? And is there anything out there cheaper than the boat shop is trying to sell me for $189 plus tax?
