    What are these plates for?

    On my 1988 Whaler Montauk I have 2 small metal plates one on each side of the hull just under the rub rail. No markings and they appear to be glued to the hull. Any ideas what they are for ?

    Tach goes backwards

    Replaced the tach cause I thought it was bad on my Whaler 115 OB. The needle stays aroing 900 rpm when off-when starting it goes to 0 them up to about 900 rpm. When I give it some throttle is pegs back down to 0 rpm. Shut key off it goes back to about 900 rpm. What can be causing this.

    When replacing the thermostat on my engine ( 98 Johnson 115hp) the thermostat housing uses a internal type ring gasket for sealing the housing to the head. Is it also necessary to us a sealer on the flat metal surfaces that make contact between the housing and the head?

    Type of screw head

    Want to adjust my carbs on a 98 Johnson v4 60dg 115 hp. Locations are hard to get to and I can not see what type of a screw driver head is required. Also is there a adjustment tool made specially for adjusting the carbs due to there locations.
