    I have a 40hp 2001 model 1041412YD that I am going to replace the lower unit on. What year and hp range will fit this engine? Will a lower unit from a 2003 4stroke work? Same part number on the housing but I would have to swap th shift rod. And the drive shaft has a different part number...

    Short shaft or Long shaft

    Hi All Is this a short or a long shaft? It measures 20" from powerhead gasket to the seam at the lower unit. But around 25" on down to the main ventilation plate. So where are the measuring points to check shaft length? Thanks, Sparky

    USA Made ?

    How can I tell my motor was made in the US or another country? I could not find anything mentioning country of origin. Its a 40hp model # 1041412YD serial # 0T299308 It seems my tach is displaying a higher rpm then when I had a force on my boat. Any info would be great.

    40hp lower unit torque specs

    Hi I need the torque specs for a 93 40hp lower unit mounting bolts. The manual I have dosn't have any kind of torque specs, just says tighten fasteners. They are 9/16 bolts. Thanks

    Water tube seal

    I just pulled my lower unit off of my 93 40hp force and found a torn rubber seal laying down inside. I assume this is the seal that goes between the water pump housing and the water tube. How important is this seal? Can the engine still be run without it? I ran it out on the lake 4 times already...

    Hustler on a 40hp Force

    I have a 1994 40hp Force non thru hub exhaust. Is there a hustler hub kit and a prop that will work on this engine? If so does anyone have the part # of the hub and prop? I here an omc prop will work. Is there any other prop systems that will work? Sparky
