    Underpropped, how far up should I go

    Just repowered and on the first run today had awesome acceleration and holeshot. No signs of cavitation or ventilation.     control cables

    I'm changing from Evinrude, 1984, to Yamaha, 1991, 140hp. Does anyone know if I can reuse my Evinrude control cables? Haven't picked up the Yamaha yet and would like to know if I need to order new cables.<br />Thanks,<br />Jeff.

    Premix/ oil injection

    Just bought a new, to me anyway, outboard. Yammy 140 precision blend with oil injection. I have a full tank of premix, around 120 litres left over from the old motors. According the guys at the shop it's quite ok to use this up, just might be a bit smokey for a while but I'm not entirely...

    I have a pair of Evinrude 70hp, 3cyl, 1984 motors and have the chance to buy a Johnson 70hp 1989 for spares at what I think is a good price.     Gooey muck from exhaust

    After shutting down my outboard there's a black gooey oil that slowly seeps from the exhaust, dripping from the centre of the prop. My first thought was gearbox but I'm fairly certain it's not from there. I've replaced the gearbox seals and it still happens. Also the gbox oil is clean, no water...
