I parked the boat about 5 weeks ago. Went back to use it and could not turn steering at all. It is an 81 Checkmate, has 350 chevy engine, with a 260 Mercruiser stern drive and power steering. Should i check cable----power steering pump ----or hydraulic unit? New boater all advice helpful.
I have a 350 chevy in a 1982 checkmate boat. I believe this is a stern drive unit. (new at boating) I started motor out of the water with no hose attached and ran motor less than 2 minutes. It now overheats when i try to use it in our local lake. What may have to be fixed or will it pull water...
