    26 ft trailer fine... be more concerned the trailer is capable of the weight load.. trailer regs are rated on gross towing limits, not the length of the trailer... if your logs are sticking out back a foot or so,, no big deal.... the vehicle being used is just as important...

    back when i had a mercruiser...... i put antifreeze in it and was encouraged by Bondo to just drain the water out and leave it empty.... drained it, that winter was brutally cold, was below zero half the month of february... spring, it was fine.. "air dont freeze"... at least not on earth

    Ive owned a 20ft cuddy and put guides on that trailer.. I now own a 20ft toon and put guides on that trailer. Short answer is. get them. they only offer help and dont hinder a thing

    Beware

    back when i bought our 1987 Cuddy, (had it for 5 years and sold it in 2019), i had a local marina assess it. it was fine, we enjoyed it for 5 years, i upgraded to new toon. never take the word of a gentlemen.. some of them are just looking to get rid of their problem

    22 dlx 90 hp mercury 4stroke

    ive got a Starcraft EX-R 20 with 115 merc... 3 blade 15p. will do 30 lightly loaded. would think 22 w 90, you'll be bout 20.. ish give or take a few mph.. only floored my set up once to see what it will do.... dont plan on doing it much.... if i wanted speed would have got a V hull.

    New prop recommendation

    If you have a 3 blade prop on that, consider switching to a 4 blade prop, that's a pretty heavy boat. 4 blade would offer better hole shot, get on plane at mid range speeds easier... I'd put a 17p 4 blade on it and see what numbers you get. you'll notice difference getting on plane faster..

    Possible boat purchase!

    I'd compression test the engine for sure.. tandem trailer or single axle?, @ 20-21 ft.. that boat probably weighs 3500lbs... single axle boats at or near axle capacity can have bearing problems. Sitting for a year isnt a big deal as long as it was stored properly, folks in the north park...
