I have a 1997 Maxum Cuddy with a 5.7l Replacement engine. I have had the boat about 7 yrs and have more question on the fuel gauge.
The gauge reads about 1/4 past full when Full, and is empty when at 1/4. Don't ask how I know this. :eek:
Best as I can tell the gauge and sender are original...
I think the shift interrupt switch (SIS) on my 97 Maxum has bone bad.
When in the water, every time I shift from FWD to N, I blow a 15A fuse and the engine shuts off.
When I re-powered this boat, the GRN/WT from the shift interrupt switch and PUR (12V, which can be traced to the 15A fuse)...

I replaced the dead Mercruiser 5.7l with an aftermarket long block. The engine is running and I have set the timing . All of this was accomplished on the trailer with the muffs.
The engine has about 1/2 hour total run time all at varying RMP all less than 1500RPM.

I have had it running for less that 1/2 hr on the muffs with no prop AND stern drive not engaged.
But, water is leaking from the shift cable onto the STBD valve cover. The leak appears to be coming from cable where it attaches to the shift linkage assy.
