I have read here that a gimbal bearing should have movement like a ball and socket joint. How much movement should there be? On mine, I can bump the tool and I don't see or feel any movement. Or, if I pull hard on the tool, there seems to be no movement also. Is this how it should be?
I would like to removing the Gimbal housing on my boat to inspect the transom for rot.
Is the rubber seal on the housing re-usable, or do I need to order a new one? Any other parts/gaskets that need to be replaced when the housing is removed?
