Is there any adjustment for the lower unit shifter? I get a banging noise in reverse like its skipping over gear teeth or something. Any way of checking to make sure the gear is being fully engaged from the shifter cable? Thanks
I am having issues with my lower unit. Its a 1996 Johnson 225HP. Does anyone know how difficult it is to rebuild this unit. Are there special tools I will need that will make the job impossible without them? I found a gear set for about 300 and seal set for 80.
