    Carb float upside down....

    I am in the process of rebuilding the carb on my 1974 johnson 25hp, and noticed that the last person to rebuid/clean the carb (Me) put the float in upside down. It still ran fine. Didn't seem to have the power it used to have. What does the upside down float do to the running of the engine...

    i need to find a part, but i don't know what it's called. while i was replaceing the flywheel key, i accidently broke the ring that the points rest on. the one that says "top" on it. now i need to get a new one, can someonw let me know what it's called so i can call around to find it? thanks.

    this thing is driving me bananas! i recently rebuilt the carb. installed a tune-up kit, put in a new impeller and thermostat......it seems to be running fine, but for some reason it is still running hot. it peeing water like it's supposed to, but you could fry an egg on the heads! please help.
