Thanks for trying to help guys, I clearly understand the problem here on an internet forum with just a couple photos.
If the transom was rotten this thing would likely be at the bottom right now. Imagine this....3000lb (approx) at 20 mph (approx) bottomed out on mud where the transom suffers...
"File too large" Type less think more.
Anyway, to answer more of my questions.
Type M (318535) alternatives according to my manual are Scotch Grip 1300 (982551) and Quicksilver Bellows Adhesive (92-86166-1).
Sure you would, but you can't even download and watch a video. Seems to be too much to ask of you. Keyboard warrior if I have ever seen one. Been a great help.
Raise your hand if you watched the video. I suppose you guys would change the transom after looking at a photo. A marine mechanic said it was solid I have stabbed the thing repeatedly with a screwdriver as shown in the video and can see it is clearly solid.
Having trouble determining part numbers for the seals. Anyone know where I might find them? It is the SX-M that I believe is dated '98 in a 2000.
Shopping list according to my Clymer manual to reinstall Intermediatte Housing and Transom Shield Bracket:

Download that video and watch it. Maybe camera angle makes it look swollen as you said. There is no swelling it's actually indented from the pressue at the bottom where the washer plate sits.
Figged it out...I think. When I bottomed out the washer plate was bent and an impression was made in the wood loosening the seal at the bottom of the transom. The seal being smashed for 21 years did not maintain elasticity allowing the leak to occur through the keyhole and out through the washer...
I finally got off my rump today and pulled the engine and outdrive. Will photograph tomorrow and do some inspecting.
Knowing what many of us have gone through with our older boats I can't image the bill if the transom needs replaced. Not sure if I even trust a local boat shop to fix this...
Thanks for the input guys. I agree hitting bottom flexed it too much resulting in a leak. Gonna see what a local shop says about it next week. Hoping the local boat shop has the tool to scan the transom and see if it is rotted. It appears water is coming in here (see arrow). The stringers are...

Well I'm back after a few trouble-free seasons. :) There I was cruising along about 20mph minding my own business and suddenly we all lurch forward with the boat slowing rapidly. I looked back and saw the mud trail and immediately cut throttle and raised the...

The timing is set and is dead on. Boat runs excellent, except when I accelerate sharply then it pops or backfires out of the carburetor. Rebuilt carb and it is doing the same thing after the rebuild. If I run it up slowly and wait for the ICM to advance the timing at 2500 RPMS...

Anyone know the correct voltage for choke terminals. Getting 7.0v. Correct? Expected 12v there so I wanted to see what you guys thought.
