Hi, I could use some help. I have a 1986 115 hp mercury outboard with a oil leak in the lower unit. I have put pressure 5+ psi on it through the oil fill port. I find the leak coming out the speedometer hose. I suppose I kneed to rebuild the unit just thought I would see if I am the only one to...
Can some one help me with the tourqe specs on the water jacket cover on a 1986 115 hp Inline 6 Seloc book says 12.5 FT LBS. but the gasket (coated with copper coat) sqwished out at 10 FT LBS and I am afraid of damaging the cover or threads. Is the book correct? I have screwed up two gaskets.
