Lost a rear exhaust vent cover on my 99 supra legacy and Can’t seem to find the part anywhere? Looked on iboats, greatlakeskipper, and various other places with not luck. Any idea where to find it?
Does anyone know or can point me in the right direction for finding parts for a 1999 Supra legacy. Looking for gauges and a exhaust vent. Can’t seem to find anything
I’m curious because it doesn’t have any water ports goin through it on the rear side at cylinders 7 and 8 but the engine does? So the water doesn’t have anywhere to flow through the intake on the rear side. Seems pointless and asking for a water leak…
thanks for the info, I found a set and planning to order soon. Also does anyone have any info on the intake manifold on this indmar engine. Can’t find it anywhere?
Replaced intake gaskets and used red RTV, torqued to spec. Still getting water in oil so I pulled risers and see this. Also turned over engine a spitting out water from only cylinder 5 from what I could see. Would that cause that much water to get in the crank case?
spark plus are fairly new so no rust but 7 and 8 are sparkly clean. When I got back I pulled all plugs and turned engine over after disconnecting fuel pump and water shooting out of number 5 cylinder but not 7 or 8…. Doesn’t make sense but definitely believe risers and manifold are shot
Will try that. Also I think I used regular gasket sealer. Would that be a problem for the corners of the intake gasket or is the red RTV the only thing you should use.
Thanks again, just seems like I’ve been endlessly chasing a relaxing day on the lake with problem after problem
Ok may be a dumb question but by adding more torque to a gasket could cause it to leak? Because I’m pretty sure I may have torqued the intake to the pre vortec specs of 30 ft lbs…… I figured with less bolts holding the intake and spread further apart it would need more ft lbs than 30
I posted this in the wrong thread earlier. I just replaced my block from previously throwing a rod through the old block. I replaced with a new 5.7 gm vortec block. All new gaskets and new head bolts torqued to spec but once hooking to the water hose and starting oil became milky after a few...
