I need to get more power out of my 73 135HP Evinrude alternator. Right now I am below the current 6/10 unregulated, but soon I will need more . The 76 150hp has a 35amp regulated stator on it, will this fit? how about a newer V4's stator?
So drilled two holes in the bilge area , one on each side of the main stringer. I already have a hole in the floor up front where repairs have been done. I filled up that hole with water and see just a little bit come out of the hole in the bilge (on the same side of the main stringer). Is...
Okay, hope that got your attention. I just got off the phone with VIP and the guy tells me the middle section of my boat needs to be filled with foam and sealed up. I have no problem with filling the middel section between the hull and floor with foam, but I want a 1ft sq. access port to reach...
I have a 73 Tri-Hull. I know this boat has three stringers running front to back (typical?). Are there any braces running side to side? is that common? I am asking because I am trying to setup proper drainage to the bilge. Of course VIPs repsonse was..<br /><br />"Keith,<br /><br />There is...
1973 Evinrude 135HP. I pulled the line that comes from the crankcase to the fule pump to provide suction ( I think). When I pump the primer bulb with this line undone I can see gasonline/mix come out of the nipple. I would assume this would mean my fuel pump diaprahm is shot and is one of the...
Was there a change in the way HP was measured in OBs? Did they change from powerhead to prop? If so that would mean my 1973 135HP was measured at the powerhead not the prop?

My 1972 16' VIP Tri-Hull has no rating sticker on it. I purchased it with a 1973 135hp rude, which has to have it maxed out. How much weight can it hold? I have had 1000lbs in it with no problems at all, but I feel that is close to the limit. I have emailed VIP and asked them, but no...
I want to setup two 6 Gallon Plastic Tanks in the front of my 16' 1972 VIP tri Hull. I want for both tanks to feed at the same time. If one tank runs out before the other does that mean it will suck air? Is the 16 feet of fuel line too much for my 73 evinrude's fuel pump? Any thing I am missing?
My 1972 VIP Tri-hull has no drain back to the bilege?!?!?!?! It just has a sump in the rear of the boat that the drain goes out to, but no where for the rest of the hull to drain. Is this normal?
Can anyone give me some info or somewhere to go about how to re-gel coat a boat. The hull is a 72 and pretty faded. Is it someting that sprays on like auto paint?
For some reason water tends to sit in the keel of my Tri-Hull. It rotted out the floor which then made the bottom hull crack when the stringer let go. I have decieded to put a bilege pump in the lowest part I can find as water is always going to get in the boat from skiers. Any other ideas?<br...
