    engine not running right

    i have a 1970 40 h.p. evinrune ,, it runs great for about 1 minute,then it seems like it loses power,about half power,then starts running good again back up to full power,,i noticed black burnt oilly stuff on the exhaust port,,the plugs was black,not to bad.is this a bad plug?? or coil?? or a...

    checking transome questions

    my boat is a 1968 fiberglass i found i little rotton area around the drian plug hole,,the transome seems sturdy ,,is there any way to see or check the transome for reasurance? A experts opion would be great.. When I pull & push the motor , the whole transome, moves about a quarter inch...

    on this motor i find only one adjustment,,it is the needle valve,,is it suppose to be two turns out ??? the other place to adjust it has what looks like a orface,, & what is the fuel mixture suposse to be 1970 evinrude 40 h.p. tad
