    Thank you 111torrance, will try that next time I have it out.Considering moving up to electric start and hp. I haven't seen any el-start under 9.9hp. thanks again tb.

    Hi- 111T, if you get that hard start problem figured out be sure to come back and post up. I have the same problem on a merc/tohatsu 3.5 no permanent solution yet. It does seem like it is too rich as it sometimes starts when throttle is opened all the way.

    1971 merc 1150 tower of power, still rippin around pulling tubes and fishing. Owned since new.

    Could very well be so. Never checked tach but have seen higher rpm on motor with a 2 blade alu prop. showed in the mid 50s but not verified. Scary chine walk tho. Long time ago before gps. Running a 19p prop now supposed to be repitched to 17 . Gets me from fishing hole to hole and limited tube...

    I'm running a 1971 -115hp tower of power on a 16ft Tahiti ski running a 17p X 13.25 aluminum 3 blade prop turning 4800 rpm (not verified) at 45mph GPS.
