Hey thanks, wish I would of thought of adjustments while it was at my cabin. Frustration makes the thought process unreliable. LOL. Gonna run some Seafoam through it as well hopefully gonna put it back in the water next weekend. If adjustments don't do it, I guess they're gonna come off and cleaned.
Hi all, kind of a long explanation. Had an issue with this motor a while back, wouldn't idle or throttle up. New fuel (premium) and finally took it out this weekend. Fired right up and idled perfectly, let it warm up, put in reverse and it stalled. Restarted and worked as is should. Put full...
Have no idea when he put the motor on. The '88 U.S. Marine Force that I had in '90 wasn't oil injected. Not an expert on Force, so I don't know if any were oil injected, but the '88 motor was run in salt water the entire time when I lived in the Caribbean and I had zero issues with it. This one...
Nope pre-mix. My Merc on my pontoon boat is oil injected. Should've just drained the fuel when I got it and not trust the seller's word. Live and learn I guess. All good now tho.
I'm using Castrol and now with draining the tank today and filling with fresh mixed fuel there's a nice blue color to the fuel and the boat is running great.
The guy i bought it from had the interior completely redone with all new flooring, pedestal seats and a casting deck. So I really don't know if the tank was added, but it looks factory. And ya, I drained about 1/2 liter/quart of fuel to look for water and there no no tell tale dye coloring in...
Hi everybody. I have an odd question. Is there anybody out there that would happen to know the fuel tank capacity of the above mentioned boat. I bought this boat in October and it started fine in the driveway, but when I put it in the water yesterday, it would go into gear but when throttling...
Boat was in the water in the summer. Guy needed to sell it before winter. Had some kind of mid life crisis or something and redid the entire boat. The boat was redone from stem to stern, all new flooring and interior converted to movable pedestal seats with bow casting deck , custom made...
HeHeHe. Won't be able to tell if there's water in there until I change the oil, but if the bottom end has been taken care of like the rest of the boat and motor, I'm golden. It's funny that the Quicksilver oil is actually more expensive than the Lucas synthetic, at least here anyways. Go figure.
Hey everybody, thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna grab Merc oil today. Can't take the boat out anyways because of the snow here right now, but at least I can change the oil.
