I have a 1975 25 horse johnson outboard and finally decided to check the thermostat after many years of owning it, only to find out that the previous owner took it out. My concern is there is a plastic plug in what appears to be a port for water. Should I remove this before installing thermostat
Ok please dont beat me up, but i have been running my motor for 10 years now and have never thought about a thermostat at all. Well when I took the thermostat cover off I discover that there is no thermostat in there. My question is now , do I put a thermostat in or do I just leave it alone
I have a 1975 25 horse johnson outboard that idles fine however it wants to vibrate really bad when accelerating from a stopped postion. could someone please give me some possible reasons for this rough running when accelerating. It seems to run ok once it has reach higher speeds.
The only information I have on an old Evinrude outboard, that I picked up at a yardsale,is the serial number. Can someone out there tell me the year and horsepower of this motor? Serial #3012-36460.

thank you
