Reinstalled and pressed to 16 psi and vacuumed to 5 psi. Found out the carrier o-ring was missing completely. New prop seals held in with some gasket sealant. Brushed o-ring surface with a stiff plastic brush from harbor freight kit. Too a few hits with pvc pipe and rubber mallet around...
This is my bottom housing/manifold, the relief valve is either non-accessible or not existent?? I’m going to hand test the cylinders and replace with another manifold/old style pump if i get nothing once reinstalled.
I have a silver puck looking type p/n 811702 pump. Did not see any threads or can find anything on how to rebuild that type and are ~$100 on ebay to replace. No sure how often those fail. It is a series of ball bearing and springs inside to my knowledge.
Retainer nut off with some propane and a dull screwdriver as a chisel. Next up pulling carrier, saw someone use a bolt type with some extra long carriage bolts going to try that first.
Thanks for the help guys, I’m finally getting around to rebuilding cylinders starting with trim. Got cover loose but having trouble getting it past the rod/ pulling piston out. Any advice?
Yes plan on now replacing o-ring and prop seals, see if it holds pressure then. If it doesn't take off lower and look at the seals on top of unit. Do you think 10psi is too high for this unit?
Lower unit was leaking gear oil, area forward of prop and bearing carrier locknut in exhaust passage was filled with gear oil. Would not hold any pressure with hand vacuum pump. Put ~10psi in through fill hole and had large bubbles coming from around edge of bearing carrier. Some tiny bubbles...
Followed factory test did not pass the "up or down" test in the factory test so I am going to attempt to rebuild valve, or get a new assembly. The test is a little confusing as when I capped each line nothing lifted the engine at all? The factory test assumes the engine will lift with the...
Thanks for reply, I cycle it up down 3-5 times before trying to try to add some fluid, but have to lift each time by hand, so I think I have it bled. I found your sticky it seems to be similar/the same to factory procedure, I was trying to avoid breaking into the lines if it was just air but...
System with shock absorber, tilt cylinder and trim cylinder. Actuating it up and down to try to refill system since motor/reservoir was replaced (not by me, new to me). Have to lift up engine to get to up position, trim cylinder stays retracted but if I then push the motor down with motor off...
