I have a 98 regal 2100 lsr.
It has a 5.0L EFI 230hp motor. Currently it has a alpha one gen 2 with 1.62 gear ratio. And a 14-1/2" 19 pitch prop..
It does alright hut I believe it could be better.

Awesome thank you. If I decided to not replace it and leave both ports open and just use a GPS speedometer. Would that be okay for now? Or would leaving those open hurt something?
Hey everyone, quick question.
I can not for the life of me find the male connector part on the sterndrive for the speedometer quick connector.. I keep coming across the older 1/4 turn male ends but not the quick connect style for the sterndrive. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Sorry to stir this thread back up, but I'm in a similar "boat" here... my gen 2 outdrive took a crap and I have a gen 1 outdrive laying around... is it possible to remove the oil monitor ubottle fitting and plug off my current gen 2 gimble and get this gen 1 working for me?
Hi, I have an alpha gen 1 outdrive and my boat had originally had a gen 2 outdrive on it but it was sold to me missing that... will the gen 1 I have bolt right up no issues? Pics for reference. Seems I will have to delete the oil port from the housing? Possible the plug under the shifter arm?
I'm also looking at welding up the merc I have and seeing if it'll hold water. Only issue is when I bought the boat, the merc didn't have the ecm with it. Any help finding an ecm for it? The original 861925T3 ecm is no longer sold and I can't find the new replacement conversion kit for it anywhere.
