    what year is this motor,cant find it

    I was told that this was a 1972 10hp johnson, but I when i looked it up they only made a 9.5. I have a 73 9.5 and it is completly different so I dont think it is a 9.5 and was wondering if anyone had an idea of the size and year. The serial number is J2327631.

    points wont stay gaped

    I have a 4 hp johnson and I tryed setting the points gap to .020. One would stay gaped, the other would spring closed after setting. Now both are springing closed. Could anyone tell me what is going wrong here?
