I have a 2002 225 Evinrude that I love and is great. Always starts so easy until recently. Now I have a intermittent no start condition.

My 90HP Johnson is acting up. @ idle is strugles to run but does. Sounds weak and lots of shake to her.
@ idle if I pull off the #1 and #3 plug wire the motor dies.
@ idle if I pull of the #2 or #4 plug wire there is no change.
All cyls have spark coming from the coil...
had off. now back on and leaks! does anyone use rtv around it? Comes with no gasket. Just seal plunger and spring.
help..my book does not cover this at all :(

Motor is a Johnson Ocean Runner 225hp yr 2000. Tach is a Faria and on the back the little black dial has 2 positions. My coices are a #5 or a #6.
Which one is the correct pole setting for the motor?

I have a faria temp gauge that I want to hook up. The teleflex generic sending units are too large for what looks like the threads for a sending unit.
I'm all ears and would like to use/hook up the gauge.

Can you hook up an oil presure gauge to this motor????
I only ask because I have a Faria 4 in 1 Gauge (oil p/gass/temp/volt) that has oil presure as a function. I was going to use the gauge to compliment the faria system check tach. The input is an electrcal post.

I have the 93 135 and it has been a great motor. I just fired it up after a winters sleep and the tach is not working. When I turn the key to on it bottoms out like it should but rev the eng and nothing. I am arem with test light and meter and manual....where do you start??? ANy...
help. Just aquired a 1994 130 with no controls or remote oil tank. My question is what is the best way to rig??? I know yamaha makes a multi type tach gauge that I would need a harness for. I dont know what type of oil tank to start looking for either. Any help/links would be great...thanks
OK heres the deal:
Motor turns over and wont start. It has good spark (blue) and the plugs are getting gas (wet) and it even farts every one in a while when trying to start. But it just wont go.
This is what I have done:
replaced VRO pump with new fuel pump (non VRO)-that didnt do it help it...
