Boat in my sig, '95 Merc 502 mag. Mechanical fuel pump and water separating spin-on fuel filter. Boat had a problem a few months ago when I first got it where if I idled for awhile, like going through a long no-wake zone, then left the no wake zone and tried to throttle up, it would just about...
Found an area near the transom on my boat this past weekend where the gelcoat is cracked and starting to delaminate. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the underlying fiberglass, at least from what I can tell by looking at the inside of the hull. Is this DIY-able (never done gelcoat...
We just booked a 4 night trip at the Nautical Beachfront resort from Dec 28 - Jan 1. Dragging the Cobalt out there, planning to check out the lake and cruise up the river towards Laughlin as well. I've only been to Havasu once and that was 16 years ago, don't remember anything about it. Anyone...
I have a demo 23" pitch Revolution 4 from bblades that I tested back-to-back with my original 23" pitch Mirage (plain Mirage, not Mirage Plus) yesterday. This is in a 1995 Cobalt 252 25' bowrider, 502 Mag, Bravo 1, 1.5 ratio. Both props are 23" pitch. Bblades is closed until Monday, planning to...
I'm going to repaint my Bravo drive this winter. Based on the condition in the pics below, do you guys think I should go all out and remove the drive, split the upper and lower, then strip/prime/paint it all, or just rough it up a bit and top coat it? I've been trying to read up on painting...
I feel like my 502 is cranking over a little on the slow side, wondering if I should look at replacing the starter. Batteries are new and have a full charge. Does this seem slow to anyone else or am I just being paranoid?
First two videos are me jumping the slave solenoid so it will crank...
I take mine out of the boat and keep them on a battery tender when they won't be used for a long time. If there was power available at my storage place I'd leave them in the boat, but unfortunately there's not. The batteries are identical, so I put each one on the tender individually until it...
Well the plan was to remove the schrader fitting from the fuel rail completely and get an adapter from whatever size the threads are in the fuel rail to 1/8" NPT. I took a look at the schrader valve location today though and I don't think that I really want to mess with it. Looks like it might...
Agreed with above. Here is my setup, less is more in my case. Deep vee helps. We back the trailer in so that only the very front 6" or so of bunks are above water, and the boat centers itself perfectly every time. Stringers are directly above the bunks.
I am looking at installing a fuel pressure gauge on my 1995 502 Mag EFI. Where is the correct location to install the sender? Does anyone know the thread size?
I used to wakeboard quite a bit behind a 2003 Tige 22V that we sold several years ago and got pretty decent, could do normal and switch wake-to-wake on both heel side and toe side, 180's, and even landed a handful of backrolls and 360's (although never consistently). Finally gave it up after...
