can anyone really tell me what is so wrong with the 170 Merc 3.7L engine. I have heard so many people say stay away but, they could not really tell me why!:confused:
I have a 1985 Regal 200XL with a 1986 3.7L 170hp merc with Alpha 1. If I'm at idle or just above boating 5mph(no wake) she runs cool but when I try and cruise or WOT my temp gauge climbs up until I come back down to idle or no wake and then it cools off in a few minutes. Any suggestions before...
