I'm looking for a place or someone that has salvage parts for my 1986 Evinrude Xp200. I had to remove my powerhead for a rebuild and somehow broke the exhaust adapter housing. And of course beening as old as it is, it's no longer made.
I'm rebuilding my 1986 200 Evinrude.The manual says to use a rod bearing alignment fixture or damage will be done. My question is do I need it or is there a better way? Where can I get one if needed?
Since I have to rebuild my 1986 200 Evinrude is there any high performance I can add? I noticed flat top pistons do they make a dome top? What about reed valves? What extra can I do?
This weekend the motor ran great then it started to knock? Then it locked-up. One piston won't move so I'm thinking connecting rod. My question is why? Why did the rod go down? It had plenty of oil. No piston gauling cylinders look good. Why....? Wheres the best and cheapest place to get a crank...
I'm wanting to add a trim gauge to my Evinrude. Do I need a special harness to do this? I've found a blue plug in the trim harness is this for the gauge? Does it hook direct to the gauge or do I need a extra harness?
It runs great for while then it slows down to almost a idle. If I let it cool down it will take off? Tell tale shows that it is cooling no warning buzzers.. Not for fuel or overheating? Does the power pack overheat and cause this problem? How can I tell which power pack? The only time it will do...
