Re: propeller won't spin
Ok so the shaft spins freely until I engage into forward or reverse, then it locks up.
I drained the oil from the outdrive and there was quite a bit of metal shavings and also on the drain plug.
What does this mean?
It is a 1987 galaxy station with a 5.7 liter omc cobra outdrive. The engine turns on fine goes in gear but the prop won't spin. The engine revs when you hit the throttle but prop won't spin. I feel like somethings striped. Thanks for the help

Hey I am re doing the upholstery in my boat and i am going to build a new back bench because the wood is rotted. Do i use normal plywood and seal it with something special or do i use a certain type of boat wood? Thanks for the help.
So we drained the oil a couple weeks ago and it looked like this chocolate milk.
We put the new oil in and it ran fine. now the oil caps look like this. Is this any more of an indication for what is going on with my engine?
Just bought my first boat this past Friday. Took it to the lake, started right up and ran fine. Batteries died a couple times but I think we might have left hem on too long. Brought it back home and hooked up the water to clean it out and it wouldn't start. Replaced the starter and still nothing...
