i started my boat in a low tide to charge the battery and didnt pay attention but it was spitting out mud at the exhaust ....and started to run hot... it was running hot for quite time but after awhile of running in clean water the engine would stay at normal temp at 3000 rpm but would rise more...
hi, i have a 1996 volvo 7.4 gi..went out yesterday and was on my way back in when i went to accelerate and the enginge decelarated at 2600 rpm didnt make any weird noises no pop engine idles fine....water temp was fine ..check dipstick and engine needed oil...went home put 3 qts of oil to reach...

HI.. everyone. i have a problem with my instrument panel..its a one piece like cars have ....the fuel ,voltage and oil pressure gauges stopped working...they all show no readings..my other gauges in the dash ie rpm,speed,trim and temp are working fine...any suggestions???thanks
does anyone have any clue why my drive trims down by itself when im running it in the water??? the boat will be trimmed fine then every so often i look at the trim gauge and i see its all the way down and i will have to trim it back up to get to the middle of the gauge
i just started and ran my boat two days ago...today when i go to start it up i get nothing...battery has juice..blower and electronics work..but when i turn the key the gauges dont work and the motor wont turn...fuel pump wont prime wheres the loose connection????
hey guys 1996 volvo 7.4 efi...when i go to start it ,cold or hot, the engine fires up and then dies right away....if i fast idle it before i start it will stay on....changed sparked plugs and distrubitor cap, cleaned flame arrestor but still giving me the same problemm....kinda idles a little...
I ran my boat with a water hose today and decided to touch the manifolds bc i have read so many reports about manifold going bad and one side was extremely hot....is this something i should be concern about ..the last time i ran the boat my temp gauge read cool that was about a month ago...thanks
i have a 1996 7.4 volvo ...the starter is out and i am trying to remove it...on of the bolts is right next to a plate where i cannot put a socket to it..tried using monkey wrench but cant get enough of the wrench on their to turn it without stripping...i cant believe the ppl at volvo overlooked...
