    Mercruiser stainless with solid hub?

    Hey guys, I just received a used stainless merc prop. (13 7/8 x 23) The hub appears to be solid. (plastic maybe?) Is this pretty common? Guess I better be careful not to run this prop into anything. -Eli

    Hey guys, Boat is a restored 1978 Cruisers Rally 174 with a 170hp Merc 470. With the current 14x25 3 blade merc prop the boat runs 45MPH (GPS) at 3850 RPM with one person and a light load. I need to get my light load WOT RPM closer to 4200 and get better out of the hole power for heavy loads...
