    DT85 '83 Suzuki w/Jet just rebuild motor. Started and ran fine. Installed controls and motor on boat, Tried to start motor and the flywheel spun. What would cause the key to shear?     power pack replaced

    73 65hp evinrude 65373R. Just replaced power pack, and did not see anything wrong with stator windings or coils. What would cause it to go bad? All tests with multimeters were within parameters. Just a little stumped, or what is going bad?
