    It stayed running after the gas was poured into the throat. The plugs are good the timing is correct.

    I thought I already posted about that. Yes the accelerator pump is working. Do you think running a higher octane gas would help? I usually run the cheap stuff.

    Fuel pressure is between 4 and 5 psi.

    It will cough once but not start. Just checked spark on all cylinders after it warmed up. All 6 were sparking. Instead of using starting fluid I used gas as suggested set throttle wide open and after a couple revolutions it fired right up. Does this suggest the carb bowl running dry? If so do I...

    I tested the new and old coil yesterday the new one was tested when the engine wouldn’t start. Both tested at 1.2ohm.

    I’ll take the tester off and try looking at it with the wire off see how far I can get it off before it won’t jump.

    I’ve looked in the intake and do not see any fuel dripping out when it’s not running. When trying to start it hot I’ve tried throttle wide open and choke wide open. If the bowl was running dry why would it start right up after cooling down for a couple hours.

    I don’t know what the gap is set at. The tester has a light in it and the color is bright yellow/orange.

    Cap and rotor are new wires are only a year old I’ll get a new fuel filter today. It idles around 700rpm without fail.

    When I pump the throttle I can hear the accelerator pump but I’ll check to see if anything is coming out. Any other suggestions in the meantime?
