I finally got the correct wiring size and shrink tubing connectors and wired in. Works great.
Any reason to be concerned about the "tan or black" lead in the 5 pin connector on the motor, which I believe tan wire is to ground?

Yeah I can do that, unfortunately they're aren't a lot of radio shack stores to get the exact connectors that would fit easily.
What do you think about wiring in series downstream of the motor tilt switch?
That first picture above shows the only plug in at motor with 5 pin outs and wire colors I'm sure are for the trim switch. What color wire would go in the correct pin?
On another thought...and I don't care if the motor remote switch works if the one on the control box does.

The tilt switch does not "work" (remote at the motor works), when I traced the wiring harness, it ends with a 3 prong plug, not connected to anything. I've read where power to the tilt n trim motor comes from the start solenoid...
