I would like to replace the old Mercury ignition switch on my boat.
It has 10 wires as follows:
2 Black Wires
2 Black with a Yellow trace
2 Red
2 Purple (pink?)
1 Yellow with a Black trace
1 Yellow with a Red trace.
My questions are can you use a 6 wire switch that I seem to see...

Going to drop the lower unit to change the water pump this weekend. Question is does anything secure the shift rod.... or is it just splined with no fastener holding it?
If anyone has done one recently I would welcome any tips. Thanks!

I have been looking at 180 Starcraft Mariners recently. However it looks like the Striper series of Sea Nymph boats have a much wider beam.
Does anyone have the specs off hand of the Striper 191? They are listed on this site under boat specs... I just don't trust it!

Just wanted some people to weigh in on the use of a roller <full roller not bunk roller> trailer on an aluminum hull boat.
My way of thinking is any time you want to bend a sheet of aluminum you do just that, you roll it. I can't see how a roller trailer wouldn't over time cause dmg/pop...
