Yamaha TPS Adjustment

Engine is 1999 SX200TXRX. Working on the boat yesterday, checked the TPS setting and got the following settings with engine off: Reference Voltage (Orange-Red) = 5.04V Output Voltage @ Idle (Pink-Orange) = 0.62V Output Voltage @ Full Throttle (Pink-Orange) = 3.92V I hadn't checked it before...

    Removing FI Filters

Whats the recommended way to remove the green fuel injector filters on a Yamaha 0x66? I ended up using the edge of a feeler gauge and prying them off. Is there a better way? Mine had a fair amount of the fine silver/grey powder that I usually find on the VST filter, so I'm glad I got in there...

    OX66 Oil Pump Operation?

Can anyone explain how the oil pump works on a Yamaha EFI outboard? Was looking at the shop manual this afternoon and trying to figure it out. Looks like there is a single feed to the pump from the engine mounted tank, it then gets split out into 6 separate lines leaving the pump, but then...

    OX66 - Spark Plug Caps

Engine is 1999 Yamaha SX200TXRX. Finally figured out how to get at my spark plug caps today to check the resistance. Found one that was definitely bad (infinite resistance) and a couple that may have had some corrosion in the cap and it was hard to get a decent reading. So what effect do bad...

ox66 - Setting Idle Speed via TPS

Engine is a 1999 Yamaha SX200TXRX. Assuming that I have adjusted the TPS correctly (5V reference voltage and .5V output voltage with throttle valves closed), and have re-connected the throttle link, can I set the idle speed according to the TPS output voltage? I don't have a multi-meter that...

    Yamaha EFI Cold Start

1999 200HP Yamaha 0x66 I just went over 110 hours this season on the motor and completed the following maintenance: Checked fuel rail pressure @ 35psi Checked TPS baseline voltage @ 5.04V Checked throttle valve synch Adjusted TPS sensor to 5.00V w/ throttle valves closed Checked O2 sensor...

    Yamaha EFI Question

Ok, I've been slowly learning about how my 0x66 works by reading through the archives here, service manual, etc. Thanks Rodbolt!

Let me see if I understand how some of the EFI components work.. For example, I was trying to figure out how a bad/failed O2 density sensor could lead to...

Wiring for Hour Meter on Yamaha

In order to keep better track of maintenance intervals I would like to install a third-party hourmeter on my boat w/ 1999 Yamaha SX200TXRX.

Here is a shot of the wiring behind the standard Yamaha multi-gauges:

From what I understand, the yellow wire has +12V...

    Yamaha Tach hookup for diagnostics

Continuing with my line of clueless newbie questions..

I have a 1999 SX200TXRX - I have a digital multi-meter that has the capability to measure RPM (its built for automotive testing) but doesn't use the typical inductive clamp-on connection.

Where can I attach a test...

    0x66 Oil Rod Adjustment

Quick question on oil rod adjustment on a 1999 Yamaha SX200TXRX (EFI).

For a little background, my 02 density sensor and draw tube are completely fouled with carbon, and I'm doing what I can to clean and re-test to see if its still operating correctly. Its looking like its too far...

    0X66 Oxygen Density Sensor

I have a 1999 Yamaha 200 0X66 outboard that I bought last winter, with an unknown number of hours. Judging by the maintenance records, it looks like the previous owner had all the scheduled maintenance done, but I couldn't find any records for 2004.

I have been using the boat since...
